A Journey Through Kalimpong: Discover the Hidden Gem of the Himalayas

Kalimpong's story stretches back centuries and is closely connected with the communities and kingdoms of the Eastern Himalayas. The region was associated with the Lepcha and Bhutia communities and later came under Sikkimese and Bhutanese influence. Its location also made it an important link in trans-Himalayan trade between India and Tibet.

During the British period, Kalimpong developed further as trade expanded and educational institutions were established. Scottish missionaries arrived in the late nineteenth century and contributed to the development of schools in the region.
